Hard to find notes?

I am rather new at this so please bear with me if I sound foolish. Everyones seems to post on having a hard time to find notes. In a few threads I have seen notes for sale which seem quite attractive. One gentelman posted he was selling auto note portfolios which consisted of something like 15 notes secured by the actual automobiles. These notes were generating @25%. I think this would be a good start for someone wouldn't it. I purchase a portfolio of ten notes and get an income stream and then go searching for the goldmine high yields (marketing,courthouse,developer leads, etc..) am I missing something. 25% is a pretty good cash flow each month. What am I missing? Of course would have to research to make sure notes were secure. If they are isn't this a go? Thanks for the info
