Getting Ready Purchase Course.. Question First

Hi, I am getting ready to jump in to the industry. I have read a good portion of the posts here at papergame and also noteworthyusa. The consensus from what I can gather is that John and Jon are about the 2 best ways to start (coursewise) I am thinking of primarily starting with brokering to get my feet wet and move to buying after I get some experience and funding. Am I correct that John Behle's course is geared to buying as opposed to brokering where Jon Richards is just the opposite? I have found a wealth of info on both sites and would like a honest answer before plunking down my cash.
