I recieved an email today about licensure in Ohio and the laws about it, here it is:
Subject: Question regarding dealings in sponsorship of paper asset real estate transactions
Chuck: Your question regarding the above issue has been referred to me for response. Because you are dealing in paper assets and not in the actual transfer of ownership interests in real estate, the real estate licensure laws would not be applicable. However, we would refer you to follow-up with our Division of Securities of the Department of Commerce to determine if such asset transactions are dealings in "securities" that may be regulated under that set of laws. The Division of Securities may be contacted by phone at 614-644-7381 or by e-mail at www.securities.state.oh.us. Frank Cellura. Staff Counsel
Hope this helps out the questions about being licensed in Ohio.
