I am such a babe in the woods to this business that this will probably seem like a really dumb question to seasoned pros but I'd like to know exactly, step by step, how to do a title search and make the most of online public records. I used to do background research for writers of historical novels so I am familiar with ferreting out obscure information and resources; however, the overwhelming amount of info available about real estate investing has me terribly confused. I keep thinking this biz is just a matter of semantics, not rocket science; a difference in vocabulary but not necessarily of concepts. Is this assumption correct? Or is it like asking why am I here or what is my purpose in this life?
I have read/studied Russ Dalbey's "Winning in the Cash Flow Business", and gone to various real estate investment seminars over the years but still have the feeling I'm missing some of the basic building blocks for successful transactions. I am considering focusing my interest on Section 8 housing in the future. Can anybody help me? Or am I making more of it than is necessary?
