Is the "Note Business" saturated with players?

Hello,
I read up on the Note Business a few years back and just recently saw a "Russ Darby?" commercial on how to get into the business.
I'm wondering if there is still plenty of opportunity to get into this field and if it truly is a legitimate way to make money.
