I don't know of a group in Michigan, but you may want to attend the local Real Estate Investment Group and someone there would know if there is a note group of some kind. Sometimes they are a subgroup of the REI group and some are totally separate.

There are a number of groups set up throughout the US by the American Cash Flow Association. They tend to last a very short time and the level of knowledge is very minimal among the students, but it might be worth checking out.
