There are many databases available. I use Paradox for some things, and Data Perfect. Data Perfect is an old program and probably not possible to find, but try the www.Corel.com site - it might be available for free at this point. Paradox is newer, but most people use Microsoft Access.
I actually use Quattro Pro for many of the database functions I need. Besides being spreadsheets, Excel, Quattro Pro and others make excellent Database programs too.
Without spending any money, you can probably find dozens of free programs at: www.download.com I find most of the software I need there and for my Pocket PC and handhelds, I find what I need at www.handango.com
